Distribution, Marketing, and Organizational Development
Gene brings extensive senior leadership experience in sales, distribution, marketing, and organizational development for the financial services industry. In addition to serving on numerous boards for Life Insurance, bank, and mutual fund companies, he possesses both an entrepreneurial and intrepreneurial spirit. As an entrepreneur, he has been a life insurance agent, agency manager, and consultant. As an intrepreneur, he has been president of a start-up broker/dealer and headed Crown Life’s U.S. Life business.
Prior to joining DeHayes Consulting Group, Gene was with GE Financial Assurance/Genworth for ten years. The past two years he was the Training/Organizational Effectiveness Leader, responsible on a global basis for supporting sales, marketing, and product development leaders in the development of their team’s technical skills. Gene began with GE Financial Assurance/Genworth as Senior Vice President – Life Sales Leader, responsible for all new life premium and multi-distribution channels.
Other key positions that Gene has held throughout his professional career include Vice President – U.S. Individual Insurance for Crown Life, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing for the Acacia Group, and with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as Advanced Marketing attorney, life insurance agent and Agency Director of Training.
Gene holds a JD from Northwestern University, a BBA in Finance from University of Notre Dame, a CLU from the American College, and is also Six Sigma Green Belt Certified. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin & American Bar Associations, NAIFA, and GAMA. He is also presently affiliated with NAILBA, ACLI, and LIMRA.
Gene and his wife Gabriela currently reside in Lynchburg, Virginia. They have six children and three grandchildren.
